Lincoln City getaway

Thanks to some good timing it just so happened that Kevin's brother Scott and his family as well as Pat and Stacey were all going to be in the Portland area during Memorial day weekend. We thought about things we could do around here, but then decided spending the weekend at the coast sounded like the perfect getaway. So after some research we found a cute little house on the beach in Lincoln City and quickly planned our quick getaway.

Friday night we spent in Portland enjoying some Sweet Tomatoes and these cute smiles.

Saturday afternoon we headed to Lincoln City. Since we had to wait to check in to the house we spent a little time at the shopping outlets where we found Pat some new Oregon duck gear for the next rainy football season. 

After checking in to the house we headed down to the beach and spent the afternoon enjoying a little sun and an evening enjoying some yummy food, and an amazing sunset. 

Sunday we went to church and then spent some time playing games and relaxing around the house. We decided to take a Kite out and get some use out of the windy weather and enjoy a little bit more beach time. 

Monday morning came way too fast and we had to pack up and head back to Portland. Not before enjoying a little bit more time on the beach and a yummy lunch at Mo's. Thanks Pat and Stacey for a very enjoyable, relaxing, and beautiful weekend.

A bigger bump...

24 Weeks! 

First (and probably only) baby project

Thanks to our good friends Jared and Nicole, Kevin got this idea that we needed a football blanket like theirs. Except not BYU (yuck) but Oregon :) So I decided I would make a blanket for little man. I thought the blanket was going to be super easy... turns out I was wrong. Actually it probably would have been super easy for someone who can sew. In the end it turned out cute though so I won't complain too much... just don't look too closely because the stitches aren't very straight.

A little Bump

As I got ready for work one day Kevin said that you could really see my baby bump. We took my first baby bump picture... I however was a little disappointed by the lack of bump in the picture so I took a second one pushing my stomach out as far as I could. I was about 22 weeks along.

Portland Thunder

Did I mention that we go to a lot of sporting events? A week after the Nike Hoop Summit, we made out way back to the Moda Center to enjoy an Arena Football game. The Portland Thunder are a new team this year and have Darren Thomas (former Oregon quarterback) as there quarter back. Arena football was a whole new world for both Kevin and I but fun to watch nonetheless. It was crazy to think that the basketball court we were at the week before could look so different.

Nike Hoop Summit

One of the best parts about living in Portland is having Nike here, not because we go shopping for Nike gear a lot but because they sponsor a lot of sports activities that we get to enjoy. One of these sporting events was the Nike Hoop Summit. Here the best high school basketball players in the U.S play against the best basketball players from other countries. So essentially it is the U.S against the world. Most of these players will be the top college recruits next year. The game was at the Moda Center and we had some awesome seats right behind the hoop. There was also lots of popular basketball people there.  One of the highlights was Kevin caught a shirt that they threw into the crowd. The game was really fun to watch and in the end the US won!
