Berg family+yummy food+football+seattle= Great weekend

The best part about being in Oregon is being closer to the Berg side of the family. This weekend Pat and Stacey began there road trip heading up to Portland. So Thursday night we spent the night visiting and planning our weekend. Friday I spent the day with Pat and Stacey shopping while Kevin went to School. We then picked him up and headed downtown to PF Changes for dinner. YUM!

We then all headed up to Seattle to go visit Scott and Adrienne (okay lets be honest, it was to go see Savannah). We got in that night and pretty much just visited and hit the sack. Saturday however was a busy fun day. We went down town Seattle and enjoyed the carousal (yes i am riding with Savannah because I am the only one who doesn't get sick riding in circles) and we then enjoyed new ferris wheel they built down town.

We then walked around Pikes place, and had another yummy dinner at The Pink Door.  We then ended the meal with fresh donuts from the market for dessert.  Earlier that morning I was given the option of going to the Ducks game against Washington state at the Seattle Seahawks stadium, or the Relief Society broadcast. Ha, I didn't have to think to hard. So after dinner the righteous ladies Pat and Adrienne went to back home and to the relief society broadcast and I joined the men at the game. The game was lots of fun. We just bought nose bleed section tickets but it was still fun to see the stadium and get a different view of the game.

Sunday consisted of sacrament meeting and then everyone separating and going there own ways.  Thank you Pat and Stacey for all you do for us and for a great weekend. And Thank you Scott, Adrienne, and Savannah for once again being great hosts and for a great mini vacation.

Survival of the fittest

So Kevin officially survived his first (short) semester of dental school. So we decided to celebrate by spending some good quality time together. We began the day by going to the local farmers market and library. This library is amazing (I am not quiet sure why I am so in love with this library but I could spend all day there and be completely happy). Needless to say it is very nice and I was excited to show Kevin the library. Luckily for us the farmers market was right next door so we then headed over there and enjoyed sampling all sorts of yummy things.

Following the market we went to the mall and did some shopping (had to pick up Kevin's new Ipad) and then returned home to watch some football. The day ended with a blizzard and the Ducks winning. Could you ask for a better day? Too bad none of it was documented with pictures.

Homesickness

These picture are from awhile back but I came across them tonight and it made me a little homesick for Idaho. Kevin made a new best friend while we were in Idaho this summer, Cannon. They rode fourwheelers one night for hours, and lets just say they were a little dirty from all the cookie spinning in the dirt.

And let me introduce you to the newest and youngest duck fan in the family. Miss Livia!

A zoo had a camel with no humps named 'Humphrey'.

The best part about being in Oregon and having my husband gone all day at school is all the new friends I am meeting. And because of this we get to go out and do awesome things during the day while our husbands study! Ha! Anyways one of the fun things we have done is the zoo! Portland is well known for there Zoo, and let me tell you it did not disappoint. I have been to plenty of zoos in my time but this one was so much fun, and as Ashley put it "The animals were on steroids". They definitely seemed bigger then normal.

More Football :)

Lets just say that even though Kevin had a test on Monday, we were more then willing to Join Stacey for another football at Autzen. Once again it was another blow out, but we stayed for the whole game and enjoyed playing on the field afterwards.  Following the game Kevin and I decided why fight traffic, so we ate a yummy dinner at PF Changes and then drove home with clear roads. It was a quick but fun trip down south! Thanks Stacey for the tickets and letting us tag along!

New Duck Fans

As I mentioned before, as soon as my parents left in July I started planning a trip for them to come back out. We had been talking about taking my Dad to Duck game and since they had a long weekend, and my mom didn't start school until after labor day we decided labor day weekend would be a great time to bring them out and take them to a game.

They arrived Friday afternoon and then we headed to Joe's crab shack  in Vancouver WA (my parents love this place). On the way there however my mom started feeling sick to her stomach. So by the time we got there she was not feeling up to eating, so we all went in and she stayed in the car to recover. After ordering our food however she felt good enough to come in and eat a little. We enjoyed the view of the river and all the boats going by.

We then took my parents up to campus so show them Kevin's new stomping ground. We drove around there for awhile and then convinced them to go on the tram with me. The tram takes students from the top of the hill down to the bottom of the hill where there is more school buildings. Kevin is currently at the top of the hill but in a couple years when they complete the new dental building he will be at the bottom and take the tram down. The photo's are from my phone so they are not very good. Kevin drove down to the bottom to pick us up since it is only free to ride down, but costs to ride up.

Here is a picture of the tram I stole from the internet so you can see a better view of what it looks like.

We then headed back to our apartment and enjoyed the hot tub. This is when my dad got sick to his stomach and spent the night recovering. It must have been something they ate on the way here.

The next day headed to OMSI to check it out. We decided that it is huge! You could spend days there staying entertained. Too bad we only had a few hours. We occupied those hours touring a submarine, doing brain teasers, learning all about natural disasters, and about the human body, and lots lots more.

Crazy Dad!

After OMSI we headed to Eugene for the game! The game was lots of fun! It was a blow out, 50-3 at half time. They put in all the 2nd and 3rd string the second half, so we actually left after 3rd quarter (which was nice because we missed all the traffic).

GO DUCKS!

TOUCHDOWN!

We were exhausted by the end of the day and when we made it home we were asleep in minutes. We also all slept in until 10 the next day. After Sacrament we had dinner then decided to go check out the Rose gardens. They were beautiful!

Thanks Mom and Dad for coming and visiting! We miss you already! Come back soon!
