Spring has Sprung {Netherlands}

Well I do not know about Idaho but Spring has Sprung over here in Europe and we are soaking up as much sun as possible. In hopes of soaking up some sun and some beauty we headed to the Netherlands last weekend. It began with a 5 hour drive beginning at 4 in the morning and ended with some tired grumpy girls but it was still lots of FUN! Overall there was 10 children 9 of them girls and Carson. The europeans looked at us like we were crazy everywhere we went.

We went to the Keukenhof Gardens and then to the windmills. We attempted to go to their flower parade but after an hour and half waiting they told us it was still going to be awhile due to a flat tire so we decided to beat the traffic and get out of there as fast as possible. The gardens and fields though were breathtaking.

The next day we headed to the windmills. They were also very beautiful. Very different looking from the ones in Idaho. Overall it was a quick fun, beautiful trip full of lots of laughs, tears, and tulips!

The tassle is worth the hassle

The rumors are true WE GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE!!!!! Kevin Graduated with a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry while I graduated with a BA in English Education with a minor in Health Education. It still has not really hit me that we are done with college... well at least for now.
Graduation was very fun i said the scripture at commencement so Kevin and I sat on the stage and then our convocation followed. Kevin's Parents and Grandma Berg were able to make it to graduation as well as most of my family. We are both so grateful for all there love and support not only on that day but throughout the years. They have done so much for us and we would not be where we are today without all of their help. So THANK YOU to everyone who has helped us in one or another we are eternally grateful.













For other news, we made it to Germany and are recovering from Jet lag. Next week we are going to the Netherlands so be prepared for a picture overload next post.

Done and almost done...

YAY! I officially am done with my work sample for student teaching. I presented it to a board and it went well. They passed me, and left me a note at the bottom of the evaluation sheet saying "You will be an amazing teacher!" It made my day.

I was also done with having long hair. I was getting antsy and wanted something new so I chopped it off. And LOVE IT!


I am almost done with student teaching just an observation week left.
Kevin is almost done with school... Just a few more projects and tests to take in the next couple weeks.
We both have Senoritis extremely bad.

And finally we are almost done planning everything for Europe. We bought our eurorail and our ticket to Italy and are now just figuring out hotels and the other nitty gritty details.

Now we just need to start packing and moving stuff. YUCK! Wish us luck!

I am proud to announce that Kevin and I are actually going to graduate from college!



I know, I know, I can't believe it either.

And no we do not know exactly what we are doing when we get home from Europe. However, we are very excited to graduate and for whatever else life has in store for us.

Reasons why I love you...

This past weekend Kevin and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary. Time flies you say? I know. You can't believe it? I can't believe i survived him for a year either. Okay I am joking about that part. I did not only survive him but I fell more in love with him. It has been an amazing year and I am so excited for the years to come. Our anniversary consisted of taking a lazy day away from homework. We played the wii, watched the movie I made him, watched monk, went swimming, went to dinner, and ate ice cream. Overall it was a great relaxing day. In honor of our anniversary I have been thinking about why I love Kevin... Here is my top 10 List.

10- He eats anything I put in front of him, and never complains about my cooking.
9- He is organized and keeps me on top of things
8- He always volunteers to turn up the heat in the middle of the night, or get me a drink of water right as we crawl in to bed
7- His dance moves on just dance- and the fact that when I get upset when I am losing he "accidentally" messes up so I can win one.
6- He gets me fries or whatever else I am craving right away
5- Good at everything he does (minus ice skating)
4-Willing to travel with me.
3- He thinks he is funny.
2- His faith... he is such an example to me when it comes to reading my scriptures saying my prayers, going to the the temple etc.
1- He is always willing to listen and comfort me on bad days.

In all honesty I could go on and on and on and on about why I love him but to prevent me from getting to mushy I will just show pictures of our past year.

Ice skating+ bruise= Success

So a little update on the Bergs
- 40 days until we leave for Europe (yes we are counting down)
-37 days until we graduate from College!!!!!!
- 3 weeks left of student teaching
-2 day until our 1 year anniversary :)
Besides that there is not much else to update you on. I am still busy with student teaching, but still loving it. We ended our trimester this week and I kind of teared up after all the students left. They were a lot of fun and I really grew to love them. Referring to all the uproar from the education bill being passed in Idaho my cooperating teacher stated that teachers will keep taking pay cuts and being treated badly for one reason, they love the kids. This has become very evident in my short teaching experience. Kevin is also still busy with school and getting senioritis as our graduation draws near.

Last weekend I forced Kevin to go ice skating with me. Yes I said forced. He always joked about how bad he was and how much he does not like it. Well at least I thought it was a joke until we actually went ice skating, and he was truly nervous. However, he picked it up fast and turned out to not be to bad of a skater as long as I held his hand (which I did not mind). In the end we had one crash. Lucky for me I landed on top of Kevin so I had a cushion... well except for my knee which took the blunt of the fall. I thought for sure I had hurt Kevin, but he jumped right up and said that popped my back and it felt good. So even after the crash I would consider Ice skating a success (I mean anything with a battle wound is a success right?) Now to get Kevin to go ice skating again might not be as successful.

The End of Life as We Know it

So we officially bought our tickets to Germany. We will be spending 66 days in europe. 2 weeks in Italy, a week in Paris and Spain, and the rest of the time with family in Germany. WOW. CRAZY. WEIRD. EXCITING. A DREAM. I remember when I was out there before I would dream about one day taking my husband over there and showing him all the beautiful sights I had seen. Now it is here.

Next week will be midterms for student teaching. I LOVE IT. They say teaching is in your blood so I guess I got teaching blood running through me. My classes have been

A lot of fun.
Lots of work.
Lots of laughs.
Lots of stress.
Lots of reexplaining assignments.
Lots of shhhhh's.
Lots or warnings.
Lots of sore throats.
Lots of extra help.
But lots of fun.

So far my cooperating teacher has been a lot of help and very nice, praising me in all that I do with the kids. And the Students of course have made the whole thing a lot of fun. I think they are finally catching on to my sarcasm. Students: "Can we make number 3 and 4 on the quiz a bonus" "No lets make number 4 and 5 a bonus" "No 2 and 3 a bonus". Me: "Actually lets make the whole quiz a bonus while we are at it". Students: "Really"? Me: "No not really".

While I spend my days planning lesson plans Kevin has been plugging away at homework (he has a tough schedule this semester), or planning our trip to Europe. Planning seems to be his favorite past time. Now if we can only agree on what we want to do in Spain.

AND... if we both have free time it is usually spent eating or playing tank on the wii play. We discovered it at Christmas and have been addicted ever since. We passed it twice now though so pretty soon it will get boring.

Tomorrow Feb. 5 me and Kevin will have been married 11 months. Which is only one month short of a year. Where has time gone? We extended our housing contract one extra month and then will move out the end of March. Where are we going? I wish I knew. Probably to live with the parents for 12 days until we leave to Europe, and then when we get back... Well we don't know that much yet.

What we do know however is we are coming up on the The End of Life as We Know it. Soon we will be college graduates so no more homework. Soon we will be moving, so no more Cougar Court. Soon we will be married one year, so no more newly wed title. Soon we will have to grow up, so no more unemployment.

Nonetheless we did it once we can do it again. We jumped into marriage which was a big End to the life that we knew. Now we will jump into adulthood TOGETHER and i wouldn't want it any other way.

A Quick Glance at Christmas

This year I spent my first Christmas away from home. Although I missed my family A LOT I still had a GREAT Christmas. So here is a quick glance at our Christmas with the Berg Family. (And thank you Jen and Shelby for the pictures that you took and I stole from the computer)
