Fall Creek

After seeing a picture of these falls Becca wanted to know how to get there and if her kids could get down to them. We decided that although it would be difficult to get all 4 kids down that it would be a fun adventure for family home evening. So we went and climbed down with 4 kids ages 7,5,3,1. The 7 and 5 year old were pretty good about climbing by themselves just needed a boost or a hand. The 3 year old was a little timid about being passed down and the 1 year old did great until we hit the water part that was loud and a bit misty.

4th of July

As a child this was my favorite holiday, and this year was no exception.  We started the day with the Rexburg parade. We debated a lot on which parade to go to (Rexburg or Idaho Falls) we ended up deciding to go to Rexburg so that I could see some of my students that I knew would be in the parade.

After the parade we went home for lunch and then headed out to Ririe to go for a hike at Crest Creak. We spent the afternoon up there enjoying the sun and the view.

The rest of the afternoon was spent with my parents and Becca and Justin. We decided at about 6 that we were hungry and wanted to go get something to eat. After calling about 15+ restraunts and finding that they were all closed we decided we would just go into town and see if anything was open. The only thing we found was Dairy Queen and it closed early (at that point we had about a 1/2 hour) we quickly called the rest of the clan to join us. Dairy Queen workers were a little upset since they were trying to close down, which in turn meant they had turned off the grill and there was very little options and food left. Needless to say we cleaned them out.

Kevin and I then headed with Becca and Justin and the kids to Idaho Falls for the fireworks. We spent a little time walking around and entertaining Livia before the show began. The show was like always AMAZING! And the day like always was WONDERFUL!

Laughable moments

I found these pictures the other day and could not help but laugh. Oh 7th graders you may be really talkative, and lots of hard work somedays but you really know how to make people smile.

He asked me if he died his hair green and put a yellow o in it if I would give him 10 points extra credit. I agreed (not thinking he would actually do it) and to my surprise he showed up the next morning looking like this. Needless to say he got 20 extra credit points that were well earned. He even told me that his mom was excited to do it for him. (See I even converted a few Boise fans)

When my staplers went missing I figured they had just been misplaced (Friday). Monday they were returned to me looking like this. Yes, one is in Jello and the other is on top of a cake. We all got a good laugh, and my class enjoyed eating the cake and surprisingly some of them ate the Jello too. I did however found Jello in every crevice for the next month.

My students always liked to make fun of me for chewing on my pens (okay really anything that was placed in my hand). I liked to tell them it was my defense mechanism to keep them away from using my stuff. Well one student decided to help me out and created the perfect pen for me. Which happened to have a sucker and life savors on the end for me to chew on.

Lagoon

Since we were in Utah and neither of us had been in years Kevin and I decided to go to Lagoon! We went the day after Stephs wedding and had way too much fun. We spent the first part of the day riding wicked and the colossus and then headed to pioneer village to ride rattle snake rapids in which we became soaked. We then enjoyed a nice lunch and some much needed pool time. And then ended the day riding the samarai, re-entry, and blast off, and then doing our favorites over again. By the end we were however exhausted, sore, and had major head aches.

My Stephie Kae "Finally" got married. She sent Ben on a mission right after Kevin and I got married, and now two years later they tied the knot in the Salt Lake City Temple.  So Kevin and I headed to straight to Utah from Oregon... and found a few of these on our ride there.

The day before the wedding was spent shopping and celebrating Stephanie's birthday. June 21st was a beautiful day full of lots and lots of sunshine and a beautiful bride and a very happy couple.
