You are the one I never knew I always wanted

I had one of those moments today. A moment where I could clearly see God's hand in my life.

I woke up grumpy as always, threw on my sweatshirt to keep me warm and headed to the bathroom to get ready. Kevin was already bouncing around the house. Happily he exclaimed to me that he felt like he had woke up every hour last night, and was not quite sure why he was so awake. As he danced around the kitchen singing the "return of the quack" I remembered once again why i married Kevin Thomas Berg. It's true what they say about "opposites attracting". I never would have pictured myself marrying someone who was so opposite of me. I mean Kevin is a morning person, I am a night. Kevin is clean i am messy. Kevin likes to have a plan, and i don't know what i will be doing in 10 minutes. But i am thankful for it everyday. Because where i slack Kevin makes up, and where Kevin slacks i make up. What makes me grumpy usually doesn't make Kevin grumpy so he is always able to crack a joke or do something stupid to cheer me up again. When i do not want to fold the laundry or do the dishes Kevin is always there to jump in and do it. Or when Kevin is stressed about his plan I can jump in there and make him do something spontaneous. It was his goofy, childish, friendly, caring side that i fell in love with and it is his humble, sensible, tidy side that not only keeps this family strong but that i have also grown to admire and love.

Kevin truly is the one "i never knew i always wanted" and i must add "and needed". Luckily someone else knew i needed him and his stability in my life and intervened. I am so grateful for these moments of reassurance and peace in my life.

RIP Ol' Blue

Ol' Blue died September 15, 2010 at family dollar due to natural causes. Ol' Blue lived a good life. He was born in 1994 in a honda manufacturing company where soon after he was sent to the US. Little is known about his childhood. In 2006 Katelyn Berg became the proud driver of Ol' Blue and enjoyed every minute she had with her. Her black hood will always be a horrible reminder of her first crash, the dent in the door will always bring back happy memories of Crystal trying to do a backflip off of Ol' Blue. And of course you cannot forget the dent in the drivers bumper where Daddy hit a deer. Ol' blue put up a good fight. Ol' Blue is survived by Katelyn & Kevin Berg (the drivers) and Verl & Jan Dial (the owners). Funeral services will be held whenever the demolition derby is (we don't know that yet) because the guy who was supposed to bury her bought her for $50 to use in a demolition derby. Ol' blue will always be remembered as a stubborn car who only started when she wanted too and died if you left the lights on for more then 5 minutes. Ol' Blue will truly be missed!

Yes, the rumors are true Ol' blue officially died. However Verl & Jan her owners were glad to replace her with this beauty.

It is a 2005 Chevy Malibu and so far has been great (besides the panic going off a few times on us). It is really nice to finally have a reliable car in which i do not have to drive at night with my brights on. Yay!

A few more adventures

Before school started Kevin and I were able to squeeze in a few more adventures. These adventures consisted of Mesa Falls, Jackson hole, and Utah. My father won some tickets to Bar T 5 in Jackson and due to his recent surgery was not able to go... so me and Kevin gladly volunteered to take them. It was a BLAST! They took us on covered wagon rides up to a little stage where we were fed a yummy dutch oven dinner which was followed by a show. When Kevin went back for seconds the main guy asked him if i would be willing to volunteer for the show. Kevin gladly volunteered me. The guy told him to keep it a secret. A little background information to the video is the mountain man was trying to get me to run away with him. He is trying to sweep me off my feet with an amazing song ha Enjoy!

We also went to Utah and spent a day at Seven Peaks with Jim and Lauren. It was also a lot of fun! I have never been to a water park so it was a whole new adventure to me. I survived the wedgies and only ended up with a bumped up knee so overall it was a complete success. And luckily when our sleeping arrangements fell through Jim and Lauren let us crash on their floor. I forgot to take pictures while we there :(

The next weekend consisted of another trip to Utah so that i could meet my brother in-law Scott. Yes, i said meet my brother in-law. He is in med school and was not able to make it to the wedding and until now we have not had a chance to meet up. Before we went to Utah again we stopped by the Eastern Idaho State Fair. I took Kevin on our first date their last year. We indulged in all the yummy fair food and enjoyed the people watching for a couple hours. Utah was very entertaining thanks to Scott. I can see now why they saved him for last... just kidding. It was lots of fun and consisted of lots of football. Luckily the ducks won or i would have had to deal with 3 grumpy men. Once again i forgot to take pictures.

I do have a few pictures of our drive up to mesa though so feel free to enjoy them.

What i learned in Oregon

1. I married into a wonderful family

2. We have some adorable nieces and nephews.

3. Kevin was actually a pretty good football and basketball player

We watched his high school highlight videos while at home. It was fun to cheer on my man... atleast until i fell asleep.

4. Grants pass is actually kind of fun

We got to do a Hellgate excursion which was lots of fun. We rode the boat down to a lodge where we had a yummy dinner. We also floated the rogue river while we were there.

5. Hiking is more fun in the winter

I made Kevin take me back to Rainie Falls where we got engaged. It was beautiful as always but super hott this time. I think i complained a little more this time.

6. Kevin is not the only Crazy Duck fan.

7. The Ducks are not that bad

We went to Eugene for my cousins reception and got to go to the duck store and watch the ducks practice. Kevin was so giddy it was cute.

8. Kevin is a lot like his mother

As i watched Pat the past couple weeks i learned why Kevin is the way he is. She said and did things Kevin does all the time. The apple doesnt fall far from the tree.

9. Do not stop at random park carnivals

While in Eugene we drove by a park that had a bunch of booths. It looked like fun so we stopped. Come to find out it was a gay carnival and there were cross dressers every where. I was a little scared... I think Kevin was too.

10. Hippies don’t wear deodorant

We also got to go to the hippy market in Eugene. I was also a little bit scared here. It stunk so bad but was very entertaining.

11. You can sell your husbands in Oregon

12. The Oregon coast is beautiful

We got to spend a day at the Oregon Coast. I had never been there but really enjoyed it.

13. The Redwoods are HUGE

We stopped by the Redwoods on our way home from the coast

14. I love Kevin more and more each day

Thank you Kevin for a wonderful trip!

Butterfly moments

It may be because even after almost six months of marriage I am still in the honeymoon stage but my adorable husband still overwhelms me with butterflies. This morning Kevin had to get up early because he was going to shadow a doctor. He got up showered and ate breakfast before i even attempted to open my eyes. When i finally did open my eyes my stomach started fluttering as i looked at my hott husband. Call me crazy, but men all dressed up are so good looking. Ask anyone i am not a morning person and not usually in the best mood, but this put me in a wonderful mood. I was even smiling before 10 o clock today. I don't know if this is still a honeymoon phase thing, but i sure hope i still get these butterflies in 50 years just by looking at my husband. I love you Kevin Berg.

Birth Control

Tuesday me and Kevin had our nieces Abbi and Loryn over to spend the night. The night was filled with the wii, carebears, and Hannah Montana. Luckily the girls fell right asleep and didn't wake up until 8. We got up and played some more wii and then headed off to the local swim park. The girls loved going down the slide and riding the carousal. We had lots of fun playing with the girls. However it was nice to hand them back to their parents. I love them to death but they are great birth control :)

Time to play

As soon as school got out i demanded we go camping. Kevin being the awesome husband he is agreed and monday we headed camping. We just went up past Kelly Canyon and found ourselves a nice little camping spot. Monday night we spent building a fire, cooking tin foil dinners, and playing yahtzee. We borrowed my fourwheeler from my parents (yes i know they bought it so its theirs but i am always the one who rode it so its mine) and Tuesday we spent the day riding. It was lots of fun to escape into the outdoors and spend some time with Kevin.
