My Next Job

I will admit that as I drove away from Westview High School today that there was tears in my eyes. It has been a great year teaching! I was blessed to have some amazing co-workers that helped me so much, especially when it came to morning sickness. They were always there to hand me a lesson plan or come take my class for a few minutes as I made a trip to the bathroom. It was so fun to be able to teach both English and Health. I had some great students (some is the key word ha ha) that made teaching each day so fun. I am going to miss all the laughs that the students provided me and of course all the chats with the students that were "stuck" sitting up front right by my desk. They loved making fun of me and my bad habits like chewing on pens and talking to myself.  I know that I am going to miss teaching and the students (well some of them), and it was very difficult to give up the badge today however I am so excited to start my next job of being a mom.

The Big 24

The worst part about teaching in Oregon is that school does not get out until mid-june. I was able to keep up the tradition of not going to school on my birthday until I moved to Oregon and had to work aka go to school on my birthday. LAME. Anyways I spent my birthday handing out and grading finals. It was the students last day of school, so they were at least all in a good mood which in turn made my job a lot easier. After grading all the finals and entering them all into the computer we had a staff lunch and then I was able to sneak home. Kevin also was able to make it home at a decent hour and so we quickly put our suits on and went and hung out at the pool for an hour or so. We ended the night with a yummy dinner at Benihana's.

Bigger and Better

When I say bigger and better I am not talking about my stomach, I am actually talking about the new dental school. This fall Kevin gets to start school at the brand new Dental School. Here is the view from his new operatory. Hopefully the new building lives up to all the hype.

Lincoln City getaway

Thanks to some good timing it just so happened that Kevin's brother Scott and his family as well as Pat and Stacey were all going to be in the Portland area during Memorial day weekend. We thought about things we could do around here, but then decided spending the weekend at the coast sounded like the perfect getaway. So after some research we found a cute little house on the beach in Lincoln City and quickly planned our quick getaway.

Friday night we spent in Portland enjoying some Sweet Tomatoes and these cute smiles.

Saturday afternoon we headed to Lincoln City. Since we had to wait to check in to the house we spent a little time at the shopping outlets where we found Pat some new Oregon duck gear for the next rainy football season. 

After checking in to the house we headed down to the beach and spent the afternoon enjoying a little sun and an evening enjoying some yummy food, and an amazing sunset. 

Sunday we went to church and then spent some time playing games and relaxing around the house. We decided to take a Kite out and get some use out of the windy weather and enjoy a little bit more beach time. 

Monday morning came way too fast and we had to pack up and head back to Portland. Not before enjoying a little bit more time on the beach and a yummy lunch at Mo's. Thanks Pat and Stacey for a very enjoyable, relaxing, and beautiful weekend.

A bigger bump...

24 Weeks! 

First (and probably only) baby project

Thanks to our good friends Jared and Nicole, Kevin got this idea that we needed a football blanket like theirs. Except not BYU (yuck) but Oregon :) So I decided I would make a blanket for little man. I thought the blanket was going to be super easy... turns out I was wrong. Actually it probably would have been super easy for someone who can sew. In the end it turned out cute though so I won't complain too much... just don't look too closely because the stitches aren't very straight.
