This semester has been a tad bit crazy compared to the others so our time together has been limited. So my request for our Anniversary was instead of getting gifts, we have a little get away on the coast. So the weekend before our anniversary after school we headed to Seaside. That night we decided to keep it low key since we were both exhausted from school and we just walked around the town and the beach. It was chilly but there wasn't any wind so it was great for strolling. After a late night on the beach 8:00 to be exact we headed back to our hotel and enjoyed the sauna and hot tub for a couple hours.
The next day we decided to hit up a few more places in Seaside like the aquarium and spend a little more time at the beach. The aquarium was very small as in one room with tanks around the edge with a little touch the sea cucumbers stand in the middle. And a little pricey however you got to buy a tray of little dead fish (mmm) and feed the seals that were in the tanks. This made the whole thing worth the price. The seals know that they must do tricks to get food so they would slap the water or their sides, splash you and swim all over to get you to throw the food to them. It was super entertaining.
After Seaside we decided to south to Cannon Beach. Online we heard about a little beach south of Cannon beach called Hug Point. The pictures of it were beautiful and we were told it was a lot calmer of a beach so we thought we would check it out. It did not disappoint. This was probably one of the best parts of the trip. There were little caves or inlets that you could play in as well as a little waterfall that we decided to climb. After climbing on the waterfall we decided we were in the climbing mood and we went on an adventure. It definitely turned into an adventure as the tide started rising and we were almost blocked on the other side of a big rock (imagine us trying to outrun the incoming tide leaping to higher ground. It was quite hilarious). We emerged from there wet but happy.
Following Hug Point we headed to Mo's for lunch. Following lunch we attempted to go to another beach but it started raining and was really cold. After a mile hike in to the beach we were to cold so we turned around and went back to the car. The wind was picking up and the rain was coming down and we were very wet. At this point we weren't sure what to do. We contemplated heading home but we were both exhausted and still hadn't been to Cannon Beach. Therefore we drove to Cannon beach parked and took a nice 45 minute power nap and waited out the rain. When we woke up the rain had stopped so we took full advantage and headed down to the beach. We spent a couple hours walking the beach and around town before we headed home.
Thanks for a great trip Mr. Berg and even more important thanks for an amazing 3 years. You complete me. You make me smile when no one else can. You melt my heart every time you flash those pearly whites. Your ability to complicate everything (you know what i'm talking about) always makes the day very entertaining and fun. Your goofy dance moves never fail to make me the happiest girl alive. So Thanks for the grand adventure Honey. It has been a great journey with you the past 3 years, and I am excited to spend eternity with you.
On a side note, on the actual day of our anniversary which happened to fall on Tuesday Kevin had playoffs for his basketball team. I told him he was allowed to go but he still seemed hesitant (I think he thought I was giving him permission but he could still get in trouble ha ha) I reassured him though that I was fine with it as long as we got to do dinner ahead of time. So after school we headed over to the Cheesecake Factory where we enjoyed a yummy dinner and both got cheesecake to go (which we ate for the next 3 days). We then headed to Kevin's playoff game. The good news is they won the championship which made letting him go worth it :)
