What i learned in Oregon

1. I married into a wonderful family

2. We have some adorable nieces and nephews.

3. Kevin was actually a pretty good football and basketball player

We watched his high school highlight videos while at home. It was fun to cheer on my man... atleast until i fell asleep.

4. Grants pass is actually kind of fun

We got to do a Hellgate excursion which was lots of fun. We rode the boat down to a lodge where we had a yummy dinner. We also floated the rogue river while we were there.

5. Hiking is more fun in the winter

I made Kevin take me back to Rainie Falls where we got engaged. It was beautiful as always but super hott this time. I think i complained a little more this time.

6. Kevin is not the only Crazy Duck fan.

7. The Ducks are not that bad

We went to Eugene for my cousins reception and got to go to the duck store and watch the ducks practice. Kevin was so giddy it was cute.

8. Kevin is a lot like his mother

As i watched Pat the past couple weeks i learned why Kevin is the way he is. She said and did things Kevin does all the time. The apple doesnt fall far from the tree.

9. Do not stop at random park carnivals

While in Eugene we drove by a park that had a bunch of booths. It looked like fun so we stopped. Come to find out it was a gay carnival and there were cross dressers every where. I was a little scared... I think Kevin was too.

10. Hippies don’t wear deodorant

We also got to go to the hippy market in Eugene. I was also a little bit scared here. It stunk so bad but was very entertaining.

11. You can sell your husbands in Oregon

12. The Oregon coast is beautiful

We got to spend a day at the Oregon Coast. I had never been there but really enjoyed it.

13. The Redwoods are HUGE

We stopped by the Redwoods on our way home from the coast

14. I love Kevin more and more each day

Thank you Kevin for a wonderful trip!

Butterfly moments

It may be because even after almost six months of marriage I am still in the honeymoon stage but my adorable husband still overwhelms me with butterflies. This morning Kevin had to get up early because he was going to shadow a doctor. He got up showered and ate breakfast before i even attempted to open my eyes. When i finally did open my eyes my stomach started fluttering as i looked at my hott husband. Call me crazy, but men all dressed up are so good looking. Ask anyone i am not a morning person and not usually in the best mood, but this put me in a wonderful mood. I was even smiling before 10 o clock today. I don't know if this is still a honeymoon phase thing, but i sure hope i still get these butterflies in 50 years just by looking at my husband. I love you Kevin Berg.

Birth Control

Tuesday me and Kevin had our nieces Abbi and Loryn over to spend the night. The night was filled with the wii, carebears, and Hannah Montana. Luckily the girls fell right asleep and didn't wake up until 8. We got up and played some more wii and then headed off to the local swim park. The girls loved going down the slide and riding the carousal. We had lots of fun playing with the girls. However it was nice to hand them back to their parents. I love them to death but they are great birth control :)

Time to play

As soon as school got out i demanded we go camping. Kevin being the awesome husband he is agreed and monday we headed camping. We just went up past Kelly Canyon and found ourselves a nice little camping spot. Monday night we spent building a fire, cooking tin foil dinners, and playing yahtzee. We borrowed my fourwheeler from my parents (yes i know they bought it so its theirs but i am always the one who rode it so its mine) and Tuesday we spent the day riding. It was lots of fun to escape into the outdoors and spend some time with Kevin.

Miracles do happen!

Okay for those of you that do not the know the past couple days have been a little stressful. Friday Kevin and I went swimming at my brothers pond. I got in and started swimming and noticed my ring was really loose. Not wanting to lose it i took it off and wrapped it in my shirt up on shore. We got out i grabbed my shirt and we headed to the car, where i dressed and we left. We made a little ways down the road when it hit me... MY RING! We headed straight back and started looking. Soon after looking around we decided we were going to need a metal detector. We hurried and rented one in Rexburg and came back. We searched until almost 11 o' clock that night, but we did not find it. I did not sleep at all that night and Kevin was wonderful throughout the whole thing. Never once got mad and was calming me down through the whole thing. We searched all morning saturday and evening but still no ring. We had to return the metal detector monday and so i asked my mom to go pick one up in idaho falls at a different rental shop on tuesday. Tuesday afternoon i received a phone call from my father saying they had found it!! My Mom and Dad being the wonderful parents they are had went out that afternoon to look for me. Friday while we were looking my brothers friend had decided to build a bike jump. He got in the tractor and scraped up a pile of dirt where our clothes had been. Devin quickly stopped him and smoothed out the pile. Me and Kevin had gone over it once but had not found anything. My parents decided to search there a little harder. My Dad says they heard a little beep and my mom started digging. And there it was. The story goes my mom yelled "Miracles do happen" and they all started dancing around in excitement.

I am so blessed. Everyone i told said they were praying for me even my nieces and nephews asked at the dinner table if they could "pray that Katelyn finds her ring". I am so grateful for all the prayers in my behalf. For Kevin for being so good and supportive through the whole thing and all the hours you spent looking, Charm for all the time she spent on her hands and knees out in the yard, and especially for my parents and the time and effort they put into finding my ring. I do not know where i would be without these people... (probably ringless).

Throughout this whole thing i learned some valuable lessons. First of all don't take your ring off. Second what is really important in life, I had to remind myself that it was just a materialistic thing (This video is amazing, take the time to watch it 6:08 is a great part) and i was lucky it was not a husband or a family member that i lost. I learned how incredible my family is and how supportive they are to me, and finally i learned that God does answer prayers and can make anything happen because Miracles do happen.

4th of July

Yes Yes i know the 4th of July was awhile ago but i have been to busy finishing up school to post the pictures. The fourth of July is my favorite holiday and i was really excited to share it with Kevin. Friday we went down to Idaho falls and i got to meet Adrienne and Savannah. It was so fun to finally meet them and Savannah was SO cute! Then later that night we went to the incredible Rigby fireworks... Ha Ha. Okay so they were not incredible but Kevin really got experience Rigby. Since the 4th of July fell on Sunday here in Mormonville it was celebrated the 3rd and 5th. So the 3rd we had a barbeque and watched the Idaho Falls fireworks with the family... They really were incredible. Then the 5th was spend out in Menan. Kevin and I volunteered to take my nieces Abbi and Loryn out to the parade and such (okay so i really wanted to go but didn't want to be the weird old people their so we took them so we had an excuse). It was lots of fun and the girls really enjoyed it.

As for right now Kevin and I are finishing up finals. I take my English and Health Praxis saturday and then SUMMER here we come! I am so excited for the 7 week break and have lots of adventures planned.

June has come and gone

I cannot believe June is almost over! I also cannot believe that the 4th of July is this weekend. I swear summer just began this week... Oh wait it did. June was a fun month full of lots of family. For my birthday i spent the day with Kevin. We went to idaho falls and did some shopping and some walking and some eating. I tried to get a few pictures before my camera died. That night we went to the rodeo with all the family. I think the mutton busting was the best part. I tried to convince some of my nieces to do it, but they all declined. Sunday we celebrated my birthday with my family. And OF COURSE Kevin had to follow the Berg tradition and smash my face in the cake.

The following weekend we went to Utah for the Berg Family reunion. We played lots of volleyball (i was sore for days) and some games. It was a lot of fun to meet some more of Kevins family. However i still don't think i have them all down. After the reunion me and Kevin headed to Provo where we spent the night eating pasta and walking around. We got to visit the Provo Temple and the MTC (I had never seen either). Sunday we made a quick stop at his cousin Matt's apartment and headed home.

Sunday Annalee left for Germany :( It was not easy to let them go... It has only been one day and i miss them like crazy. But before they left we did some Family pictures. Although it will outdated in like six months again. Dang people having babies :) Anyways my aunt Krista took them and managed to get a few good ones between the tears. But even if they are crying you have to admit i have the cutest nieces and nephews!

OREGON!!

Over Memorial Day weekend we had the opportunity to go to Grants Pass for an open house. My parents came and Carly. The drive was not bad, some movies, some books on tapes, and lots of sleeping. Along the way we stopped at Crater lake. It was beautiful, and fun to see my parents reminisce their honeymoon 34 years later (they went to crater lake on their honeymoon). The weather was wonderful and we had a great sunny day and was able to attend a parade and boat nic in Grants Pass. The open house was wonderful! Pat put a lot of work into it and it turned out so good and was a lot of fun. It was fun to see all the in-law family since i have not really had an opportunity to spend time with them. I am looking forward to this summer when we get to go back out west to Grants Pass and spend more time. I am also looking forward to my birthday in 2 days... I am not counting or anything :) I think Kevin is pretty excited for my birthday just so I will quit bringing it up.

I got some pictures at Crater Lake but the actual open house i slacked at taking pictures. My mom took some so i will have to steal some and will post them when i get them.

Sleep Talking :)

As you all have probably realized due to the lack of posting school has taken over our lives. However we still have tried to find some time for some fun. Most of the fun is in our sleep. Kevin lied to me when we got married and said he slept in the same place and did not move. I beg to differ that kid rolls all over on top, and then roles back stealing all the covers, all while singing me a pretty song. However Kevin is not the only one who likes to move and talk in his sleep. A couple weeks ago I had a lot of teaching assignments in my classes and had been preparing for them. At about 2:30 in the morning (according to Kevin) I got out of bed stood at the end of the bed and welcomed the kids to class. "I would like to welcome you all to class today". I woke up Kevin and he then praised me "Good job" for my great introduction. This woke me up and I realized what I had just done. Embarrassed I hurried and laid back down pretending to still be asleep. We sure got a kick out of it the next few days.

My Boo

So a few weeks ago my niece Rylee took a fall off a bunk bed, which left her with a broken elbow. This was sunday and monday morning she went into surgery to have it placed. However monday was also my niece Brooklyn's (Boo as i call her) second grade talent show. Her mother had to go to the hospital with Rylee so we all jumped in and volunteered to go to the talent show. She definetly had the biggest audience. My mom, dad, Charm, and I all went to watch her sing God Bless America and America the beautiful. She did wonderful! She has an amazing voice that often brings me to tears. Luckily i held it together through the talent show. I got a few pictures of her... I wish i would have recorded it but Charm did that. I will have to get it from her so i can brag to everyone that i know the next American Idol.

Also my nieces came to visit the other day, in which i happened to be doing laundry. They enjoyed dressing up in me and Kevins clothes. I thought they looked really cute so enjoy! Nikole did not know what to think about the padding in my swimming suit :)
